Since the shelter in place order was announced by the Mayor, the ASNA Board has been working on ways to support our community through this challenging time. In compliance with the order issued by the San Francisco Dept. of Public Health and CDC, please be sure to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and people you encounter when leaving your home.
We’ve compiled informative resources, as well as some creative and uplifting neighborhood actions, to remind you that we will all get through this, together.

Support our Divisadero Merchants!
Many of our Divisadero merchants are still open for business and doing a fantastic job of providing services to the neighborhood during this difficult time. If you have the ability, please try to continue to support our merchants in the upcoming weeks and beyond. Many of them are experiencing extraordinary hardship and it is up to all of us to help keep them afloat through this crisis.

• El Rancho Grande: Open for to-go from 10am-10pm

• Fool’s Errand: Walk-up wine and beer available. 
• Hahdough Bakery: Open Wednesday – Sunday from 8:30am- ~2pm
• Josey Baker Bread: Open 8am-2pm with fresh bread, coffee drinks, milk, oat milk, eggs, butter, yogurt, avocados for take-out.
• Little Star Pizza: Open for take-out and 3rd party delivery only; closing nightly at 9pm.

Small Business Assistance
If you are a business owner in need of information about small business loans, paid leave, and deferred taxes, please visit www.oewd.org/corona . If your hours of operation have been reduced as a result of the corona virus closures, you can file an unemployment claim with the California EDD.

District 5 Essential Services
Essential services are defined as grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies and dispensaries, hardware stores, and other critical city departments like the Department of Health and Department of Public Works. SFUSD Students
The San Francisco Unified School District is providing free meals to all children 18 years old and younger throughout the closure of SF district schools. Students in need will be able to pick up breakfast, lunch, dinner, fresh fruit, vegetables, shelf stable meals, and milk to take home. No identification or proof of school enrollment is required but a child must be present. Families will not need to enter the school building for food pick-up.
Meal Distribution Times: 9am-10am, Monday through Friday
District 5 Locations:

• Rosa Park Elementary School; 1501 O’Farrell street

• Wallenberg High School (just outside District 5)

Technology Gap:
30% of SFUSD students are still without access to a home computer or don’t have reliable internet access at home. SFUSD is working quickly to close this gap so that students don’t fall behind in school as the shelter in place order continues. Childcare for Frontline Responders:
Public Libraries and Recreation facilities will act as Emergency Child Care Centers. Beginning March 16th through March 31st, San Francisco Recreation and Park’s recreation facilities will serve children of parents working on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak and low-income families.
Parents on the front line include: San Francisco-based hospital staff, Department of Public Health employees, and activated Disaster Service Workers.

The San Francisco Public Library will provide homework help and educational enrichment for youth grades 6-12, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Office of Early Care and Education will continue to provide support and guidance for existing private childcare providers for children 0-5. Transportation: SFMTA & BART Service
Through the ongoing CoVid-19 public health emergency, SFMTA will be making important changes to operations. Service changes include but are not limited to:

• Modified MUNI service
• Paratransit guidance
• Parking enforcement
• Parking Garage Operations including facility closures
• Temporary ‘fees and fines’ adjustments

Bay to Breakers Statement Regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

2020 Bay to Breakers postponed to September 20 

“Following further discussions with the City and County of San Francisco surrounding the escalating COVID-19 outbreak, we have made the decision to postpone Bay to Breakers to September 20, 2020. The health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers is our utmost priority, and we are grateful to the City for their flexibility and assistance in selecting this new date to ensure this legacy event takes place for the 109th consecutive year.”
