Pedestrian Critically Injured At Alamo Square

88 year old woman struck by hit-and-run driver

An 88-year-old woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Alamo Square near Fulton and Pierce Street on the evening of  Wednesday, July 21st.

According to police officers, the hit-and-run accident happened around 5:56 p.m. For unknown reasons, the driver in an unknown make and model struck the woman, who was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the impact.

Shortly after, paramedics and officers arrived, but the driver had fled the scene moments prior. Due to her life-threatening injuries, paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for immediate care.

At this time, the hit and run is still under investigation. Therefore, if anyone has information on the driver or vehicle involved, please contact the San Francisco Police Department

If you are concerned about traffic speeds on your street and would like to submit an application to SFMTA to install traffic calming solutions on your block, applications for the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 Residential Traffic Calming Program Cycle will open on October 1, 2021 and run through June 30, 2022.
