Alamo Square Reforestation Update

Phase II of our canopy restoration project is underway

· Park Preservation,Alamo Square Park,Volunteer

ASNA, in collaboration with San Francisco Recreation and Park Department (SFRPD), is beginning the second phase of tree planting for Alamo Square Park!

During our first round of forestation in 2016, over 140 trees were planted throughout the park.  Thanks to the communities’ generous donors, ASNA’s  "Trees for Future Generations"  has over $50,000  remaining to fund another round of tree forestation.

By spring 2022 we anticipate planting over 100 new trees in the park, strengthening the park’s urban forest and increasing biodiversity.

As part of our First Saturday Volunteer Gardening event, we will have our first community planting on December 4th, where we will come together to plant the first 50 trees, sponsored by San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.

If you would like to participate in this historic tree planting, please RSVP here

For more detailed information see our 2016 Tree Forestation Masterplan developed through ASNA’s community-led process below.
